Galería Isabel Aninat - la más antigua del país-, nace en Santiago de Chile en 1983 con el lema “Agrandar el círculo”, comprometiéndose con las nuevas tendencias de los jóvenes autores. Hoy, estos artistas son reconocidos en el mundo del arte dentro y fuera del país. La galería trabaja con artistas consagrados tanto chilenos como extranjeros, dándole mayor cabida a exponentes latinoamericanos. Destacan exposiciones como, Entrecruce Latinoamericano, Roberto Matta, Fernando De Szyszlo, Hugo Zapata, Luis Fernando Peláez, Jesús Soto, Carlos Cruz Diez, Kcho, Joan Miro (con la Fundación Miro), Arman (retrospectiva), Antonio Gaudí (en conjunto con la fundación Gaudi), Thomas Hoepker (Magnun Photos), entre otros. En los años 80, el principal objetivo de la Galería fue unir tres mundos que en Chile estaban distanciados: el artista, la obra y el receptor. La Galería se preocupó de crear un mercado para el arte chileno tanto en chile como en el extranjero, ya que el país vivía una época de encierro y, por ende, existía una gran necesidad de incorporarse al mundo las artes a nivel internacional. Isabel Aninat forma su primera galería “Plástica 3” en 1982 junto a dos socias, en 1987 se independiza y crea “Plástica Nueva”. En 1996 se traslada a un espacio cuyas instalaciones permitían acoger cómodamente las distintas propuestas del arte contemporáneo: video, instalaciones, multimedia etc. En ese entonces toma el nombre definitivo de “Galería Isabel Aninat”. Marcando un hito en la escena plástica chilena, incentivando el desarrollo de lo que actualmente es un reconocido circuito de las artes visuales, formado por diversas galerías y centros culturales. La Galería se ha destacado por formar grandes colecciones de arte, tanto a nivel de empresas como particulares y está constantemente asesorando en la colección de museos ya establecidos, como en proyectos de futuros museos e instituciones artísticas. Isabel Aninat considera indispensable que la dirección de una Galería asuma la responsabilidad de la curatoría de cada una de sus muestras. Consecuente con ello la directora cuenta con el Título de Licenciada en Filosofía y Estética, y la experiencia de haber sido profesora titular universitaria en Apreciación del Arte y de Historia del Arte Contemporáneo. De esta manera, la Galería crea y materializa sus propias apuestas. |
Galería Isabel Aninat, the country’s oldest, has been committed since its inception to promoting new trends and supporting young creators who now form part of an important group of renowned artists. The gallery also works with established artists, both Chilean and Latin American, and has included in its exhibitions major foreign artists such as Joan Miro (with the Miro Foundation), Arman (a retrospective), Antonio Gaudí (in conjunction with the Gaudi Foundation), and Thomas Hoepker (Magnum Photos), among others. The gallery’s motto: "Expand the Circle' had as its main objective in the 80's, uniting the three worlds which in Chile had become separated: the artist, the work and the beholder. This encouraged dialogue between these three groups, helping to create a market for Chilean art. Chile in those years lived in a period of confinement and there was a great need for it to enter the art world at an International level. Isabel Aninat formed her first gallery “Plástica 3” in 1982 with two partners. Later she became independent in 1987 and formed “Plástica Nueva”. By 1996, she had moved to a space that could comfortably accommodate various proposals of contemporary art: video, installations, multimedia and so on. At that time she adopted the definitive name “Galería Isabel Aninat”. This new place became a landmark in the Chilean art scene, encouraging the development of what is now a renowned visual arts circuit, formed by various galleries and cultural centers. The Gallery has become known for the formation of great art collections, both by individuals and companies and is constantly advising established museums as well as future museum and art institution projects. Isabel Aninat considers it essential that the management of the gallery takes responsibility for the curatorship of each of its shows. Consistent with this, the director has a BA in Philosophy and Aesthetics, and the experience of having been a university professor in Art Appreciation and the History of Contemporary Art. In this way, the Gallery creates and embodies its own courses of action. Galería Isabel Aninat has been a driving force of Chilean and Latin American artists at distinguished International art fairs such as ARCO Madrid, Estampa Madrid, ArteBa Buenos Aires, FIAC Paris, ArtBo Bogotá, PINTA Nueva York, PINTA London, SCOP Basle, Art Miami, Lima Photo, Buenos Aires Foto, SPARTE Sao Paulo, among others. |
